We had a wonderful vacation at the Allegro Playacar!
This is the first hotel I like to come back. As you said it is small and for my wife and me it means smaller distances to walk to beach and for meals, but the biggest attraction is the beach itself, is big and sandy, no rocks. The size of hotel and number of people causes that always are available spots on the beach and around the pools we didn't need to run in the morning to put towel for having spots for the day. Food was very good but not as sophisticated as in other hotels, New Year Eve dinner was great.
Small thing were not perfect, rooms are very small more like motel rather then resort hotel, but for us this was minor issue. Many rooms were not finished yet after renovation eg there was no wall in the shower in our bathroom and water run freely into the room, people were still working on renovation and some rooms were not available so few gests were transferred to other hotel some 20 km away.
Staff on the other hand very friendly and nice.
All together we were very happy.
